| light high quality machines I'm trying to find out which is the best solution for a new bass I'm getting built that I will carry around all the time. I would like to minimize weight and I'm now at the point of selecting machines, but I see no seller is ever listing the weight and there's not much more info here in the older threads.
I'm looking at the Sloanes (maybe too slow for me), the ones from KC Strings, various high end Rubners and also the ones sold by luthier Martyn J Bailey, which seem a bit smaller, but on the other side that doesn't automatically mean lighter...
Then today I started wondering if I should only check hat peg tuners, cause wood is always lighter than metal? Or not?
Any input is very welcome...
