Luthiers in or around Roanoke, Virginia?

Hello everyone

Im just looking to get my upright set up, etc. Does someone know of anyone good in my area?

Try to contact some of the double bass teachers in the local universities (Virginia Tech, Radford, etc) they might know of someone who can set your bass up.

The Bass Violin Shop in Greensboro, NC has a good rep. in that area. Probably the best regional shop north of Atlanta.

I'll second that, Bob is excellent, and a terrific guy. Closer to you, there's a respected cello maker in Blacksburg named Dan Foster. I don't know if he works on bass, his number is 540-961-6326. In Lynchburg, there is T. Martin and Son, at 434-528-2697. He stocks and services basses.

These guys did an excellent job. It felt so much better to play it than it did when I first bought it. It was not fun to play, imo, when I first bought it. Now it plays like butter.
