Neck ,Deep - Setup Problem

Hi, I have this cheap czech bass

this bass is 4/4 ,I put spricore solo strings on it. I dont have a problem with scale lenght but I looked here

Here, neck is 3/4 inch(1.8 cm) deep , but mine is 3 cm Is this problem fixable?

I have some ideas like making an upright using this bass' neck and bridge.

By the way sorry about my english

You'll hear a few different opinions Racsen, but most DB'ers prefer more neck to less.

By opening up your hand you use the larger muscles of your forearm to create the sound, preventing many RSI type injuries.
I also think that a bigger stiffer neck helps with tone production.

The key seems to be carving the neck in a soft, rounded 'V' shape rather than a 'C' to keep the depth and still create clearance for the palm.

Good luck, Jake

3/4 inch is a little on the thin side. You would benefit from a graphite rod inlaid. Better to find a thick enough neck so you can make it what you want.
