When strung up should there be slight relief in the fingerboard of the DB (a slight dip--not to be confused with a warped neck)--as in a guitar neck? Or should the fingerboard be straight all the way?
Some guitar/banjo makers build in fingerboard relief before stringing up--does the same apply for the DB?
Your thoughts on the issue most welcome.
I couldnīt think of an instrument where you don't need the curve. (Sitar?) The string needs space to vibrate, and more so towards its middle than at nut and bridge.
