Yup, he said it's done and I'm going to visit tomorrow to pick it up. It was pretty expensive ($750) but he looks like he knows what he's doing, so its probably worth it. We'll see tomorrow...
I would reccomend A&G Music in Oakland. Their string guy, Greg, is very very good. I have had nothing but good experiences from that place, and he has set up my bass very well. Prices are reasonable too, moreso than Alex in SF. He has even worked on Ron Carter's bass last year, I believe. http://www.agmusic.com
Well... its fixed! It plays the same as if it didn't break and the break is not so noticible (if you're standing a couple of feet away). I think he did a good job overall.
My wallet feels a lot lighter too.
