Palatino Brown Lacquer

Trying to match the front (top) brown lacquer finish of a VB-009 Palatino bass. I have two large areas (about 1.5" dia)under the bridge feet that are down to bare wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leave the wood bare, in my experience and seeing my luthier work on my bass it seems that the varnish under the bridge feet is very sticky. This makes it hard to make adjustments to the placement of the bridge. So instead of being able to just tap the feet to the side, you have to actually take off some tension in the strings and move it. This is just what I have seen and experienced, so take it with a grain of salt. Someone else (perhaps one of the luthier on the boards) may have some other input.

I too would leave it alone on that bass.
