What sort of bass and what's the damage? Pics?

Bass repair is expensive, so unless your bass is an old carved one, it's not going to be worth it.

Just my $.02

Sorry to hear about your bass :-(
My teacher's bass was dropped by Air China, but he's having it repaired. It's taking absolutely ages and it won't be the same as it was, plus its costing him a fortune in renting basses to play for the time being. If it is a significant instrument to you and you have the money to get it done then I think I would go sort it, but to be honest the only person who can tell you whether your bass is repairable is a luthier who has seen (the pieces of) it in the flesh and is so equipped to give you a good professional opinion.
Good luck! x
