Radius on (fret)board on EUB ?

What's the max radius on (fret)board if you want to bow an upright?

(I'm planning to build an EUB and I want the possibillity to "bow" but otherwise I want as "flat" (fret) board as possible)

Are you planning to put frets on it?

Standard radiuses range from 66 mm - 72 mm.

I don't think there is a true "standard" radius for doublebass fingerboards. I measured a fingerboard I removed from a bass yesterday and it has a 55mm radius at the nut end and close to 80mm radius on the other end. Compound radii are very common on DB fingerboards.

I have no idea what would be the maximum possible radius for bowing, but for a constant radius fingerboard, I have found 66mm to be a good compromise. If you get the radius too flat or too tight at the nut, left hand fingering can be uncomfortable.
