Exclamation Realist repair

Hi,

Unfortunately my realist is humming a big hum
due to a shortcut were the wire is connected to the piezo, I suspect.

Fortunately Istill got my schertler pickup, the first type with the cork adjusting. I stopped using it because it lacked punch. While I was experimenting it showed that leaving one out the sound gained enormous push.
The thing is probably that the two phases each other out in certain frequencies. Eureka, like ten years late but still.

It sounds natural like a realist but without the blurry delay.
The search goes on for the huge acoustic approach.

My question: How can I repair my realist. Help!! AAAAAAHAHAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

I contacted the Gage shop with the same problem...it must have been a couple of years ago by now. As I recall, they just told me to send it to them with a description of the problem, and they would fix it there. I never did; instead, I just switched to my current setup. The Realist is still sitting, busted, in the same drawer that holds all my "vintage" strings.

It got tossed in the drawer and forgotten. I now use the AMT mic for the most part, or just play no amp. If I had a use for the Realist, I'd probably send it to them. Honestly, I'd forgotten I even had it until I saw this thread.

Captain Hook- did you try emailing David Gage through his website?
