Do you guys remove the finish from the underside of the neck to allow the thumb to glide more easily? If so, do you use successively-finer steel wool to do this, ie., 00 then 000 then 0000? And once you do that, how do you keep it clean? With periodic smoothings with the 0000 steel wool?

Over time the finish will wear off in the high traffic area, then you'll have to seal it with a light oil and repeat above. |

i pictured a blowfish with a layer of finish on the back of the neck that gets sticky and his thumb chatters up and down the length.(kind of like what your butt does in the tub).
i didn't mean to imply he strip the neck, just dyna-glide it a little for smoother shifts.
i once skewered a blowfish in the Keys with a speargun,it was slow moving quarry, and felt bad afterward. |

Thanks, forester, I'll do it that way.
Matthew, I haven't posted pix of my "blowfish" for a while, and it's been very much modified since then, so I'll guess I take some more this weekend and put 'em up, if you're that interested.

Just a little more slide 'n' glide, is all I'm after.
Thanks.
