Replacement screw for Endpin

Hey,

So, I actually broke the head off my endpin screw a while back, and I've been looking for a replacement, but with no luck. And it seems silly to buy a whole endpin for one small part.

Have any of you had success with finding a replacement screw?

What's the brand? Do you know what type of thread it is? You're probably better off shopping from a hardware supplier then from a instrument parts store. Check out these site:

Most end pin screws seem to be either M6x1 or M8x1.25 thread. A good hardware store should have those or maybe your local luthier has spares.

Not sure of the brand.

Although I did contact my luthier, and he is sending me a replacement screw.

I think most of those screws are 1/4-20. I bought a bag of these malleable iron numbers about fifteen years ago, and have yet to wear out any of them.
