I don't have a clue, but it looks like something that's bound to rattle at the worst possible moment. Is there a problem with the regular round rubber mute? I know on my bass it's a bit of a pain because it won't slide over my wolf eliminator, so I just hang it on one string instead of two...

Do the strings go through it or do you have to force it between the strings?

Ohh and by the way. I was looking at the GILKES Bass. How much is it selling for?
