Some Neck Clamps I Found

Hey, it's my first post here. I've been lurking for a while. Thought about jumping into a couple of threads (like "Does the wood make a difference" threads) but decided to hold off. I've been playing banjo for a while, a little guitar and took up the double bass last summer. I've also done a lot of set-up and building of banjo necks. So of course, I have to get into the tinkering on the bass as well.

Anyway, looking around on the interwebs, I found this sight with these clamps:

http://www.theviolincenter.com/Plast...llo-705870.htm

They seemed a little pricey. Then I found these RV Camper Sewer Dump Hose Multi-Clamps on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/320365564073...84.m1423.l2649

They certainly look like the same thing and the seller apparently has about 800 of them left. At that price, it's hard to resist.

So, I figured instead of arguing over wood, I'd use my first post to share a good deal.

I can argue over wood anytime.

And thanks for all the great advice I've been getting here!

Hi.

Well, You can't blame 'em for not trying .

Thanks for sharing.

A slight derail if You don't mind.

Banjos?
Like European or US banjos?

The reason I ask is that I have an old Lefima tenor-banjo I can't get much information about, not on the interwebs anyway.

It could be made by the drum company Lefima, a mention or a two can be found that they also made banjos at the turn of the century, but not much more than that.

Alternatively, if You could point me into a site like Talkbass, but for banjos, that I'd also appreciate a lot.

Regards
Sam

You, Sir, rock. I think I owe you a beer... ...or at least a good argument about wood.

Hey T-Bird, tyb507 has the link. I'm on there too. Just did a search for "Lefima" on Banjo Hangout. One thread about it from last August and it added nothing to what you already know.

Lo-E. I lived in Carroll Gardens for a couple years a while back. Hated having to take the F train home late at night.

I feel bad that one ended so I found another one:

Try an old bicycle innertube. If your neck and fingerboard are nice and flat, you don't need much pressure to get a good bond.

Cool! Thanks to Michael Eisenman's link, I now realize they can be had for 3-4 bucks in a veriety of places on the web.

Ah, the F train! I lived on that line for 18 years or so. I'm in Midwood now. B, Q or 2 line. Still no picnic late at night!

I agree. Threw mine out years ago. Save your $ and your temper.
