Tailpiece cable & Tailpiece

I have read that the tailpiece cable used can have an effect on the sound of the Bass. I understand that a metal cable can 'choke' the sound. Has anyone you tried various synthetic cables? and results?
Does that also go for the tailpiece? Wood v. Synthetic tailpieces?

Your views most welcome.

The cable (Wire) that attaches the tailpiece to the end-pin.

There are several threads that speak to these issues. The search function can be your friend.

Yes, the tailpiece and respective cable can change the sound, feel, and volume of your instrument. I personally enjoy the work of Mike Pecanic, who is a tailpiece maker in California. He makes pieces out of many different tone woods and makes them to fit your instrument, style and sound. He also has kevlar cables that he makes that allow the tailpiece to vibrate freely without hinderance. The less metal the better in my opinion!

Thanks guys for your input.
Joey: Thanks for posting the article---most interesting---had to read it a couple of times--Tailpieces are pretty complex!
