Top Movement on a Laminate?

Hi all,

I have a Shen laminate bass, approx 1 year old. I went to play it the other day after a couple-month layoff (been gigging on the slab) to find that it wasn't playable. The G string is laying on the fingerboard, and I have significant buzzing on the A and D strings. I maxed out the bridge adjuster, but still no dice.

I have an appointment to bring it into the shop this Saturday, but in the meantime was thinking about what might be going on. I didn't expect much seasonal movement in a laminate, certainly not this much. Is it possible that the top has settled into a different position? Should I be concerned?

The soundpost is in place, BTW. Thanks for any/all input!

Mark
