I have no idea what the composition was for the bluing liquid I used, but it was nothing like what you describe. From what I've read, there seem to be many different bluing products sold.

Perhaps someone can tell if Englehardt currently uses these blued metal plates on their basses. If they do, it might only take a phone call to find out what process is or was used to produce the blue metal plates from their supplier.

ooooohhhhh!! now that is what i have been waiting for!! MJE-- do you know if that product is more likely to be in a gun shop or a specialty hardware type shop?? just wondering what type of OIL do you use to wipe it down??. thanx you guys ( MJE and Bob B )
