| Unusual bridge alteration Recently I saw a bass where the bridge (solid, non-adjustable) had notches, about 5mm tall, right above the feet, bringing the leg thickness to maybe 4-5mm in that spot. The rest of the legs, and the bridge, were standard shape. The notches were going in along the East-West axis, so to speak. I take it the effect would be increased flexibility right above the feet, short of installing some sort of a hinge - an idea which has been brought up here before.
Am I just too new to this, or is this really a unique thing?
