I just received a big ugly gash next to the left F hole, from a music stand during practice.
What would the best way to hide, cover, or fix this on my M1B Kay? This is a great thread to learn how these old peieces were finished. Thanks in advance.

Here is a quick pic of the bass with the color finished! I used a Yellow Ocre ground, with subsequent coats of Van Dyke Brown(about 6-7). I really like the way the color turned out. I have sealed with a coat of Waterlox, but I might put a couple more coats on.Its currently drying outside...

Arnold I only just read your post on stripping the finish. I did scrape the whole thing, and it took FOR EVER. But its finished now so I guess next time....
