Where to get appraisal in northern NJ?

Hello-
Could anyone suggest a place for the unofficial appraisal of my string bass? I fear it may be worth less than $1000, so I'm not keen on hundreds of dollars for a certificate. It's made my Meisel.
Thanks. Tanya (Ridgewood area)

It depends on what you mean by an "informal appraisal". Do you want an appraisal or an opinion? What's your purpose? How accurate do you want it to be? I'm in Ridgewood; there's nobody nearby. I get my appraisals from New York luthiers.

rob riccardi in gibbsboro nj, I used to work with him, he will most likely do it for free if you get some work done on the bass, does great work too
