$50 gift card to a music store - what should I get?
 

My teaching job gave me a $50 card for a local shop (Twin Cities TBers might know it: Groth Music in Bloomington. They have a small but decent guitar/bass dept. and a ton of weird percussion/world music stuff. I could stock up on strings (been thinking of trying some tapewounds), but that could still leave me with 20-30 bucks of free.

What'll I get??

You could use it as a small downpayment toward a bass that you want.

If this stock is correct, nothing else available to consider, and I had the $50 ready to spend... I might be tempted to go for either the Fender 50's P-Bass $749 or Fender Classic 60's Jazz Bass $799. Maybe even the Classic Vibe 60's P-Bass for $349.99.

Well, I am very happy with my Jag Deluxe. I considered a beater pj bass, but I think I should leave well enough alone there...thinking...
