Though you are like me and just bedroom bassist and occasional jam. How many basses do you own.
I currently have 7 and 1 six string

2. Squier 77 Jazz
3. Ibanez SR 300
4. Raven West 4 string
5. Raven West 8 string
6. Epi Toby
7. Honer P fretless
8 Squier Bullet Strat
Overkill, but I love em and want more

I did the GAS thing with guitars and it finally got so overwhelming that I just sold my amps and most of my guitars. I gave away my last electric, my pride and joy Telecaster a few months ago and am down to three acoustics, two of which are being gifted away before the end of the year

Overkill, but I love em and want more | Well......two weeks ago I added another one to my collection. Kept telling myself "don't" but you know how that goes. Bought a Fender American Standard 4 string Jazz bass. (Sorry...no camera, so no pics). Black body, white picguard and a maple fretboard. I'd been stalking this bass for about a good month and a half. Walked into my local music store, tried out a few basses including "mine" and could NOT believe how well it played. I mean, for me it was everything I'd ever wanted in a 4 string for playability. I thought "someone is going to end up with a really nice bass." Went back about two weeks later, tried it out again and told myself "you don't need another bass." Put it back and went home.
Two weeks ago I went back in and really put it to the test. I think I played and compared it to a few others for close to two hours. I thought about it and decided not to let it out of my sight so I bought it. The playability of this bass is just too good to be true. Again, it's everything I've ever wanted from a 4 string but couldn't find. It's rock solid, light weight and sounds great.
So now I'm LOVING my two Fender Jazz basses: got an American Standard 5 string (a wonderful player!) that I bought in 2011 and my newest prize. |

| | | | When I wrote the initial thread just over a week ago, I felt lonley and frustrated. Now there is 50 of us. Jobs and kids and dogs.. whatever. We are enjoying music for what it is. We are not playing for pussy and beer. We are not playing for photo shoots and record deals. For whatever reason your picking up your instrument, It's probably one of the right ones.
Big thanks mjac28 for starting and maintaining the list. Take a bow... and the logo is fab.
I really want to tell everyone how much fun i have with my looper. Its not even a dedicated one, just a little zoom B3. 40 second loop (infinate overdubs) and 30 or 40 drum patterns. I havent had so much fun, or been so musically satisfied in years. I can't belive i wasted all that time without one. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
