“Crazy [Lady]” (by Buck Cherry)

I am quite obsessed with “Crazy [Lady]” (by Buck Cherry) right now. I can’t stop listening to it. I’m listening to it right now. Again.

It’s just such a well-arranged song. Almost too much so—like a bunch of producers wrote it with software. But the software works, and my “catchiness” nerve centers have gone haywire.

The song is like contraband at my house. I can only listen to it through speakers if Mrs. Bomb is away. She will tolerate hearing the bass part when I play along, but only if I play along to headphones. It’s the lyrics, of course. I’d like to say that I don’t like the lyrics either but I would be lying. Basically, it’s my entire twenties in three and a half minutes.

And the bass tone! I want my bass to sound like that. It snarls.

I know from other threads that people are tired of playing this song and don’t respect the folks in the bar who dance to it. Usually, I would feel that way. As it stands, though, I can’t get anybody to play it with me. I only just discovered it like a year ago and everyone is already tired of it or always hated it. But it is so much fun to play! And listen to. And sing. And watch the video of.

I may have to form a new band based solely on willingness to play “Crazy [Lady]” with me.

It’s OK if you judge me for this. I judge myself.

/confession

Dude, I love this song! I saw them live a few years ago and they rocked it quite well, too. I think it's a lot of fun to play, but then again I don't gig so I don't have to play it all the time over and over

That's the advantage of frequent deployments and not listening to the radio much, I hear it when I WANNA hear it!

I play it every gig.... It still rips..I do play it a bit different...during the break down a get to play a slap and pop solo going under the vocal until the build up. Just happened by accident at one gig..I was a bit over the top and the band loved it so we kept it...

I went with Meh. I play the hell out of it and it always gets a great reaction. I like to play it because of this reaction. If it were to come on the radio while I was driving by myself?? Meh, I'd probably try to find some Abba.....

I actually rather enjoy Buckcherry... it's a nice good ol' rock band and this song is certainly an anthem to remember.

I'm a bit of an elitist music wise, if it isn't profound or ground breaking, I probably don't like it.

In this case I hate it, but I'd like to believe that I'd hate it even if my musical standards weren't so high.

How could you not enjoy a song that features the line:

scream so loud, gettin' ******* laid.

When he says that line, I always picture him on top of his woman saying that during intercourse. My girlfriend would beat the piss out of me if I declared that I was getting laid while we were doing it.
