They use that term "musician" pretty loosely there...

why is kurt cobain even on the list... he shot himself or the media says so. I think courtney love did it but jim morrison should be at the number 1 spot on the list not kurt cobain.

There are song they did that I like... but the general public doesn't distinguish between musician and someone who raps their own lyrics part of the time, someone else's words the rest of the time, over beats someone else sampled. But the list would have been more accurate if it was titled "Performers (Or entertainers)who died before 30."

why is Sid Vicious on the list? I thought hewas a wrestler that broke his leg, not died. Oh, wrong Sid Vicious. Even so, he shouldn't even be on the list.

+1 on the Sid Vicious point. He's pretty worthless if you ask me. If Johnny Rotten had died that would be another story . . .

There are quite a few other well known musicians who died young who are not on the list but I guess whoever compiled it wanted to create a Top 10 of sorts.

Some others

Ronnie Van Zant (Lynyrd Skynyrd) - age 29
Steve Gaines (Lynyrd Skynyrd) - age 28
Cassie Gaines (Lynyrd Skynyrd) - age 29
J. P." Richardson, Jr. "The Big Bopper" - age 28
Ritchie Valens - age 17
Maury Muehleisen (Jim Croce's music partner)- age 24
Gary Thain (Uriah Heep) - age 27
Peter Ham (Badfinger) - age 27
Marc Bolan (T. Rex) - age 29
Hank Williams - age 29
Shannon Hoon (Blind Melon) age 28
Cliff Burton (Metallica) - age 24

Jim Croce - was only age 30
Dave Williams (Drowning Pool) - was only age 30
