Great to see a tber give props to a real living legend.
No gimmicks just solid "in the pocket" bass playing.
Sit back and learn cause there ain't to many cats left that are playing like Weeks.
By the way, I was so turned on by Eric's decision to go 3 piece , his song selection and making it look so easy.

| | | | I don't get the hating on EC either, he's a top-notch performer and a pretty damned good song writer too. Or think about it this way: would Jack Bruce have played with a chump? I didn't think so.

Blue | Which is a good thing to be.
One of the nice things about seeing Cream at Madison Square Garden a few years ago (vs seeing them the first time in 1968) at the Cream reunion was the stronger vocals coming from Eric. Still nowhere near as strong as Jack but way better than before.

If Weeks solo on "Everything is Everything" leaves you flat, imo it's time to put your bass in the closet.

I did switch over in time to see Clapton but changed the channel after his set. He sounded great. I also saw about 2 minutes of the Stones.

I thought everyone sounded great. Always nice to hear Roger Waters' voice. Clapton awesome as always. A little annoyed they pretty much refused to show Pino. Sir Paul is the Man. And I think I'm in love with Alicia Keys, what a hottie! |

Weeks is a "once in a life time" player in a league of his own.

Blue | Considering Kanye's comments during the 9/11 telethon 11 years ago and then ripping the microphone out of Taylor Swift's hand when she was accepting a VMA, I'm shocked that he would be invited to do anything.

| I'd throw Jemmott into the same tier as Willie and Porter and by all means add Chuck Rainey to the mix. |

I haven't seen the concert; they're playing here at midnight, so I'll record it and watch it after my gig. Glad to here there was some quality acts and good performances.
This has nothing to do with anything, but when I got married, we played "Love Reign Over Me" when we were walking down the isle. When it got to the song finale, I looked over at some of the older guests. They were a rather taken aback to be sure. Daltrey's screams rather freaked them out LOL. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
