12 string guitar/8 string bass help

I'm debating on whether to get a 12 string guitar or an 8 string bass (course strings). Anyone know any fairly cheap but good ones they'd recommend?
Preferably:
-Single cut-away
-On board-tuner
-Electro-acoustic
