Thanks but no thanks.

Or rather, good on him, but that's not to my liking.

EDIT:

Taste reference (I much prefer this style of blues):

Saw him last Friday night in NY with Buddy. Very impressive for 12 years old, and the kid can sing to boot. WAY too f*^+ing loud though. He came out on 11 and pretty much stayed there. Buddy on the other hand was a lesson in dynamics.

Regardless, cool show.

Alright this is too weird. Not long ago I saw a documentary that had in it another blues prodigy, though he was a little older, 18ish maybe? And then even less long ago I saw a story on the news about ANOTHER blues prodigy who was even younger, like 7-9.

What's going on here? Where are these prodigies coming from and how are they ALL blues players? This is either a conspiracy or there really isn't all that much to blues

I think the reason for so many great young musicians today is Youtube. They have access to tips, tricks and lessons 24 hrs a day. I'm sure you can advance alot faster since the days of picking up the needle and moving it back to try to cop a lick. Heck, you can even communicate with the pros via facebook or twitter. It's not like todays kids actually step away from the computer to go play baseball or something

There is a new one of these kids every couple of years...most of them fade back into obscurity after their 15 minutes, sometimes they do something with it like Derek Trucks and Johnny Lang, but most of these kids are just imitating what they see, and never develop any real musicianship. It's cool, but let's see where he is in 10 years.
