I've seen a couple custom built road cases for multiple basses that look like a chest of drawers, with each drawer being a slide-out form-fit bass case. Imagine stacking multiple Anvil bass cases on top of one another, and then eliminating the redundant parts. Big, heavy, & I'm sure not cheap.
Another thing I've seen fairly often, especially with big name touring acts, is the vertical "multiple guitar holster" array, where something the size of a steamer trunk has multiple padded slots that hold guitars (or basses) standing upright side by side. The lid comes off and the bottom half of the case doubles as your guitar stands. Again, big, heavy, & no doubt pricey.
And I've seen some flight cases designed to hold a bass in its gig bag. They're basically like keyboard cases, with a large rectangular cutout rather than a form-fit bass-shaped cutout. Combine that with a double gig bag and you're all set. Certainly the cheapest way to ship two instruments in a single case...just remember, in touring cases you get what you pay for. |

hey mate, thanks for your response. A few questions I have for you. What is a double gig bag? And secondly, are you referring to the skb flight case? Can that hold two basses? http://www.skbcases.com/music/produc...et=1&c=84&s=75

What is a double gig bag? | It's like a normal gig bag (a soft padded form-fit case for your bass that is typically carried slung over one's shoulder) only it's a little deeper in order to accomodate two basses back to back or back to front, and has a padded divider to go between the two basses.
