If you could get a 2 hour free lesson from one of the folllowing who would you choose?

1. JPJ
2. Larry Graham
3. Victor Wooten
4. Les Claypool

These 4 came to my head first while posting this..I realise there are others but just out of these 4.

myself would take a lesson from JPJ.

Victor.
I'll say he's the most versatile out of the bunch.

JPJ was Led Zeppelin though, and he's a monster. One of the best bassists of this century, surely.

I'm not a fan of Les.

Larry Graham is killer too.

But, i'm going to say victor has mastered slap, groove, fingerstyle, funk, jazz. and what else comes.

but, if jaco was on this list, i'd take him anyday!

Any one of the four you mentioned would be totally killer to sit and take a lesson from, especially Larry Graham, the 'Godfather of Funk'. My personal choice would be Steve Harris, though. I've been a fan of Iron Maiden for about 20 years or so now.

out of those 4 I would choose JPJ . I think he has the best ever recorded bass tone . The tone he got on Zeppelin 2 is also where I look for guidence tonewise. My person choice would probably be Jaco or the man who ever famous bassist credits James Jamerson! Im sure he could teach a young 15 year old a thing or two.

Les because that is more unfeasible, but I would also really like to get a lesson from GBC or Stew Mckinsey.

Victor out of that crew, but there are dozens of upright players I can think of that I'd rather study with.

I would have to go with Larry Graham as I love his playing and his ability to just keep a good slap rhythm going. I love the guy.

JPJ, but I would rather have four 1/2 hour lessons from him rather than one 2 hour lesson.

whoa! how did I get mentioned in the same breath with any of these monsters??

Alex, if we're ever in the same place and I've got a bit of time, you've got a lesson. cool?

you know that 2 of the scariest bass players on the planet are really close to you, right? Bill Dickens and Scott Pazera! Mr. Dickens is really expensive when he does have the time for lessons but Scott makes a good part of his living teaching and he's awesome!

thanks so much for the vote of confidence!

Stew
