21st Century Band Communications?

I have a few related questions for anyone interested in answering.

1. Do you play in a band, or are involved in a project where all the members have access to and make use of the internet (that you know of)?

2. Do you use the internet to maintain/augment your internal band/project communications between the times you actually meet? If so, what do you use? Email, public or private forums, etc...

3. If you do use it, does it actually work for you? What are the biggets benefits and problems of the method you use?

I ask this because I use some private forums for my various groups and I was curious what methods are currently in use by others and if it works well for them?

We actually talk to one another: some times phone, sometimes in real life
pros - We actually talk to one another
cons - human memory is in use

I don't often talk with the drummer or one of the guitar players, I often text message/call/talk in person to the other guitar player...

I was also involved in a project with a guy in Germany--we talked on yahoo IM and played together over ninjam online, so we haven't even seen what each other looks like

Always phone for me. Occasionally an IM from a member saying he's gonna be late, but always phoned.

generally, the telephone. emails are used mostly to send ideas or rough mixes of songs. we do use the net to market, to a certain extent (check out our myspace in my sig!), but also the phone... depends on how the gig is to be booked.

1) yea we all chat on aim for the most part, we are all 17-21 so the internet is big

2)well we use aim, its easier to have a group talk then on a phone, and we are all usualy to busy to all get together during the day.

3)yea, works great
a pro would be, we are all at home and relaxed at our desks and can think straight
a con would be that if everybody has a point, everybody talks at the same time and there are large paragraphs to read lol

edit:

oh, i put "other" because u didnt put in "aim" for an option

Combination of email, text messaging and the occasional phone call.

Both guitarists and singer live together in an apartment, and refuse to get the internet.. I don't even think they have a computer. Drummer (currently) is at school 2 hours away from here, and I don't even has his number. An example of the one big problem with my band: we didn't practice for 7 weeks, including gigging at one point. Which is why I'm looking to join another band, and keep that one on the backburner.

Once you get the Luddites onboard, Yahoo groups are really useful. The calendar and collective messaging make a lot of the logistical stuff easy to deal with. You can also store files and limited mp3s.
