3 Part Harmonies & all that

I love the band I'm in. We're sorting out vocals on some songs and of course when listening, many aren't really choral or, 3 part but (especially in pop-rock-country) sound more like folks singing in unison.

When the band starts working out the harmony parts, there come the tones-registers that are not there as folks try not to walk on each other. I say; "just sing it out together & skip trying to harmonize", but still the others persist.

Any thoughts from the TB gallery?

It's worth the effort to get it right. 2 part done right is better than 3 part done wrong.
