39.99 tuner, better than pitchblack?

Sign in to disble this ad
The tuner I ordered from GFS came in today. I have to say that I'm impressed. It's got a pretty heavy metal box. The display is bright, and it tracks really well. According to the website, it said it went down to low A, but I got it to track down to F#. You can also tune it to flat, if you so choose. Away with pics (sorry they're slightly blurry)

in the last pic, the led is blue as well as the note, however the tracking LED is green, but goes from red to yellow to green to yellow to red. I tried to shoot a video, but holding a camera, tuning, and plucking strings requires one more hand than I have

If you can manage to get some video, I'm sure that everyone would like to see how fast it tracks.

When I decide that I need a tuner again, this will be the one I'm getting.

I'll try to get my wife to help me out tomorrow night. It really tracks well. Personally, I like the blue LED in this one as apposed to the red in the pitchblack. I'm beyond shocked about what my39.99 plus shipping got me.

guitarfetish.com, yes. If so, I'm more than excited to have one.

Hopefully it won't suck down batteries as fast as the Pitchblack. I love the function of the Pitchblack I have, but am afraid not to replace the battery after every gig. The battery dies pretty fast with normal practice / gig use.

I'm sure it does suck batteries. The LED's are super bright. Mine's on a one spot, so it doesn't bother me. However you can buy a lot of batteries for the difference in price.

Probably because they are sold out until mid February. Bummer I want one too! This looks like a great deal for a nice tuner.

Heh... gangsta wanna-be. Apparently it's ok to not tune the note you're playing when demo'ing a tuning pedal. LoL.

Note goes flat... "that's normal, all pedals do that."

Ummm... turn the tuning knob maybe mr. little gangster.

Really? I've put at least a dozen gigs on my Pitchblack since I bought it and it's still on its 1st battery.

Yeah, I like how he threw a couple of swear words in there to improve his street cred.

Am I the only person who plugs his Pitchblack into a Onespot with the rest of the pedals? I don't use any batteries...

I'm doing the same. I accidentally leave my tuner on in my basement way too often to pay for batteries.

Unplug from both ends any time you're not playing and you shouldn't have that problem.
