That was sad. Every time Metallica loses a bass player, the quality of their output drops dramatically.

I still think Jason left because the music was just getting more and more away from what Metallica was when he joined them. I was never a big fan of Jason but I think he did the right thing.

Now Rob on the other hand, what was he thinking?

BTW, that was a rhetorical question. I know why he joined them, $$$$$$$$$

i thought jason left because the rest of the guys wanted to "spend more time with their families"
oh well, metallica hasn't seemed to make any real progress since newstead left imo

I remember seeing Jason on his first tour with Metallica.
1988 Monsters of Rock:

Kingdom Come
Metallica
Dokken
Scorpions
Van Hagar

still have the hat & ticket stub,It was a stadium tour.At that point the boys still had not accepted him and the photo
shoot still had jason standing apart from the group. I felt
bad for him.....for about a second.What a gig to get.
