A new forum game from the guy who brought you Song Uno. Don't know if this will take off as well as that one did, but it's worth a try. Being a bass players forum, I figured there's enough Jaco fans and jazzheads here that this could actually work.
If you've ever played the Kevin Bacon version of this, you know what's about to happen.
Step 1: Name a musician, any musician.
Step 2: The next poster will try to link that musician to Jaco Pastorius via all the other musicians they have played with. If you get stuck in the chain, let the next person try to pick it up.
Step 3: When a chain has been completed, whoever finishes it will post a new musician to start the next round.
Pretty simple I think. And it's quite a fact that Jaco played with enough big names in his time that this shouldn't be too hard to do.
Example:
Stanley Clarke.
Stanley played with Al Dimeola in Return to Forever.
Jaco played for Al DiMeola on his "Golden Dawn Suite", from his solo album "Land of the Midnight Sun".
Done! See? Not so hard.
The longer the chain, the more fun. Try not to cheat, but it's understandable if a little Google/Wiki research is necessary.
Good luck folks.
I'll start things out fairly easy. ROUND 1, DING DING
Miles Davis

Here's another (perhaps long winded) one:
John Petrucci

I have a feeling this thread will get much less interesting as it wears on.
How about Sting?

Do you go for radically different genres? What about Sid Vicious? |
