i just opened up a pack of d'addario string i bought recently, and the packaging has the measurments fo 4 strings, but it actually had 6 strings inside...

what are the extra two? is it a 6er set, or did they jut put in a few extras?

yea, its a set for a 6er, so now i havge a C and B sitting around since i only have 4s

I once had a 4 pack of Hartke strings that was a 5 string set. It was only maybe the 2nd time I'd changed strings, shortly after starting to play bass, and I think it took me about 5 minutes to realize that the reason the "E" string wouldn't fit was because it was really a "B" string.
