Lightbulb 90s/Grunge Cover Band Name Suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
Me and my buddies like to jam. We're not officially a band but, when we jam no matter what we play we always end up playing 90s Alt/Grunge songs. Our drummer had the idea the other day that we should make an effort to be a Grunge Cover Band. I've got two questions for youse guys out there.

1. How big of a niche market is there for a 90s/Grunge Cover Band?
and
2. What kind of band names would be good for something like this?

I like "Smells Like Flannel"

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

1. Not sure how big of a "market" there is, but Nirvana is still popular, right? Might be worth a shot...

2. Cystic Fibrosis.

No joke, when I read the thread title those were the exact words that came to mind, before I even opened the thread.

Lithium? Works for satellite radio, that's the name of their 90s grunge station.

+1 Smells Like Flannel

When my band does bar sets, we play mostly 90s/grunge and post-grunge covers, and they go over really well, enough that one bar wants us there once a month (but our singer goes to school 1200 miles away, so it's tough lol)

Nearvana is cute too, but might seem more like just Nirvana, where as Flannel could imply other bands (lots of guys, even today, still rocking flannel)

Tainted Cantaloupe.

OK, so it's poor taste at the moment, but it's been used in almost every headline I see about this issue. I keep thinking "That would be the best name for a band".

yeah... I'm ***** up...

Actually Smells Like Flannel would be pretty awesome.
