Sign in to disble this ad
In school my teacher told me that the left side of our brain is creative and comtrols art and music and stuff like that and our right side is more serious so to speak it controls math buisness things of that nature. I have a question?????

Do left handed people have the brains reversed to were the right side is creative and our left side is basic?

anybody know?

also if its not would that make a noticble difference in how southpaws pay?

As a qualified neurologist I can say for certain the left handed people do, in fact, have backwards brains

What about me, who is a right-handed bassist and a left-handed writer?

It's ambidextrous and, no, being a right handed bassist but a left handed writer doesn't make you ambidextrous. Ambidexterity is the ability to use both hands with equal facility.

Your teacher has it backwards. The left side is the logic/analytical side. The right side is creative side. Typically left handed people are said to be more artistic/creative thinkers.

This is what I've read, too.

This is correct.

Only if they're born in the southern hemisphere.

It's true that the human brain is bicameral and that the left side is connected to the right side of the body, but all this creative vs. analytic stuff is mostly conjecture. It is probably more likely that the right side of a left handed person's brain operates like the left side of a right handed person's brain than that either side is absolutely more (or less) creative, but that's conjecture, too.

But the "I'm left handed so I'm more creative than you" myth is not supported by any evidence that I know of and is just a bit self serving on the part of any lefty who would say that.
