You'll live, maybe. The first scratch is the worst.

You should see my gigging bass. Thirteen years of dings and scratches all over.

What scratch?

But i agree that the first scratch is always the worst, thats why...

I buy used basses My main bass (Godin) came with a ding in the back and a tiny crack at the neck joint, therefore i dont care when i damage it.. Its gotten quite a bit worse in the 8 months ive owned it so far , heh. Im curious as to where some of it comes from, tehre is one area on it that has abrasion marks, scratches etc for about 2-3 inches..and i dont remember doing it?

sweet.

Thats only the stuff that I could get to show up in the crappy photos. There are so many cracks, chips and scratches. Thats why I have now put this bass to rest until I decide on how I want to refinish it.

The first day of getting my first bass I'm resting my left hand on the body where I always wear a ring. I move my hand and hear SCCCCCC and realize that I put a nice big scratch in it.

Sucks... dont it?

Man, I remember the first time I dinged my bass. I freaked out. I now have several scratches and dings in that one, and a few dings in my fretless from playing with drum sticks and them flying out of my hands :embarassed: .

My old BC Rich Innovator 4. Yea, its not a (insert boutique bass name here) so I could care less about resale value. Plus, it has sentimental value being my first and all.

Man, I could care less if my bass got a scratch. i love my bass, but a scratch won't effect the playablity or the tone.

I threw my remote at my bass a year ago, chipped the paint off, piece of wood showing through

I prefer to think of scratches as war scars.

My first scratch what I was tighting the washer under the volume knob. The wrench scratched the pick-guard. Silly 12 year olds should never play around with that sort of stuff.
