I'll probably take some heat for this, being a bass forum, but I thought some of you would enjoy this regardless. Here is a link from another forum.
All the videos are just incredible in their own sense. All very original.

Reminds me of the guy who started that style of playing: Michael Hedges (from Enid, Okla. no less).

If you're talking about John Butler, he uses acrylic nails and as do a lot of acoustic players who play with that picking style.

Nope. Kaki cleared that up in an old FAQ on her website. Speaking of her, I love Kaki's first two albums. The third one, not so much... she's a really good fingerstyle guitarist, though. A lot of people got hung up on her "Playing With Pink Noise" song/video because it had the percussive techniques in it, but it's really a very poor song compared to her other material.

Also check out these guys (I don't know if any of the vids had them, I didn't look at them):

Don Ross
Tommy Emmanuel
Andy McKee (who was mentioned above, but worth mentioning again)

Michael Hedges is an absolute must if you like that kind of guitar playing... he was a brilliant musician.

Michael Hedges is the be all and end all for me.

But prior to him, it was hearing Leo Kottke who turned my head upside down in 1979: he blew me away.

I had not heard of Leo Kottke until I checked out Clone with him and Michael Gordon. Holy crap. It's crazy good.
