Anything is a step up from Paul Rogers. I assume John Deacon is still retired?

He certainly brings a certain charisma to the role, and can sing.

Someone's got to hit those high notes.

I think its kind of cool, actually.
Like when Shane West started singing with the Germs after playing Darby Crash in a movie.

What was the problem with Paul Rodgers? I always thought he had one of the best rock voices in the business... Not sure how he sounded with Queen though...

Agreed. Paul Rodgers has an outstanding voice. I never heard him with Queen but am having a hard time seeing how his vocal style could work. He's about as far from Freddie Mercury as you can get.

That was the problem I saw or, heard. It's wasn't that he wasn't good, it was for me,
his voice is so distinguishable and recognized that it didn't fit, as good as he is.

Your were thinking Bad Company or, Free, for the old timers (like me ) with Queen backing him up.

I can see him working quite well. He has a very good voice and can handle the vocal range.

yeah Adam should do well. He has the flair and style to carry the role on well if he fits with the band.

I think it's a pretty good fit stylistically. Lambert is very theatrical in presentation, definitely has a huge vocal range, and is very precise in his singing. Nothing against Paul Rodgers...just seems like Lambert would be a more natural choice.

Paul Rodgers definitely kept the interest going (always a ***??? with a new singer, with Rodgers, at least he deserved a better initial reaction based on his legacy).. But I never saw the match. Great singer yes, but no connection. Kinda like Mick Jagger fronting Metallica.

That said, Lambert is a nice fit for Queen.

I'll still never see them without Mercury.

Like seeing Journey without Perry. eh.

It's like getting the store brand soda.

Will young Adam be handling the piano duties as well? How about strumming a six-string during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love?"

I think not. With his skinny jeans and goth eye liner, in his own way he's just as bad as Rodgers in my mind.

Long Live Freddie Mercury, the King of Queen. Every singer who tries to fill those shoes comes up dreadfully short.

Amen.

But if it makes Brian May happy, and some fans. Ah, it's all good.

Freddie..

+1

I might go to see Brian.

John Deacon is the only sane one in the group. It ended when Freddie passed on.

I'm disappointed..you'd think after Marc Martel got so much exposure with his cover of Somebody to Love that they'd look at him

Bingo. It's just not a Queen show without Freddy.

And using an American Idol singer to replace Freddy? I don't want to live on this planet anymore - YouTube
