Alright, I'm not asking for a history of what you have owned, but add up what you paid for all the stuff that you currently own (not what they're worth). Has this been beaten to death already? Sorry if it has.

Since I don't own a lot, I'm talkin' all the stuff (I didn't include what I put into an instrument such as setups, etc)

Basses.
Guitars.
Amps.
Keyboards.
Pedals.
Mics.
Recording interfaces.

Some of you may have too much to count, haha. Here's my list so far. I started about 8-9 years ago, and here's what I paid for what I currently have (not counting things I sold, so this will be a lowball figure of overall what I paid)

Fender Highway 1 Jazz - $600
Ibanez Acoustic - $500
98 Strat - $680
Ibanez S520EX - $600
Martin Acoustic - $700
Random Washburn - $120
Epiphone Travel Acoustic - $260
Ibanez Jumpstart Electric - $250

Peavey Valveking - $400
Hartke B60 - $300

SM57 - $100
SM58 - $100
Rode NT2a - $320
Firepod + AT2020 - $400

Casio WS3800 keyboard - $160

Noise supressor pedal - $100

Total - $5590

This is not meant to be gear snobby, or "look how rich I am" type of thread. It's meant to be more of a "oh my god don't show the wife" thread. Has it been done too many times before?

Tradition B100 Deluxe - $100
Cort Artisan B4FL - $250
Epiphone Galaxie 25 (tube guitar amp) w/ a 12" Sunn Bass Speaker - $125
Morley Chrome Power Wah - $50

$525

That's not too bad for 6 years of bass playing.

I don't know if this has been done before either, but I tried to tally this up close to 2 years ago and I was well over $10,000.
and it hasn't gotten any better!

I'm somewhere in the neighbourhood of $8k... the vast majority of which is sadly sitting in my parents basement now that I've moved across the country and I'm not playing professionally anymore. I pretty much just have my trusty P-bass with me now.

Basses only (5 of them) - with today's exchange rate very close to $30,000.

My amp was short of $7,000 and my effects sum up to about $4,500 after I sold off about a third a year ago.

So the total is more than $40,000.

Now, why did I do this...???

Fender Deluxe Active Jazz - $400
Warmoth fretless Jazz - $275
Michael Kelly Dragonfly acoustic - $500ish
Peavey Mark IV - $135
Behringer BX1200 - $200
Korg AX3000B - $140

Not counting cases, strings, cables, straps, etc ... $1650 ... I got pretty nice deals on the two jazz basses, especially the Warmoth, plus the acoustic and the Behringer are the only things listed that I bought new. that was back in the day. I get everything used these days.

Basses(4 including a DB)=$3405
Amp and cab=$800
Effects and Recording equipment=$640
Cables/Straps/Cases/stands=$360

Grand Total=$5205

That's not too bad considering the guys in the 10,000+ club. And I'm not bashing, I wish I had the money to sink that kind of dough into gear(dang low paying gigs), someday. . . .someday.

All right, here it goes.

Basses:
Rickenbacker 4001, 1970's (under restoration): $1600 including parts and labor
Ibanez lawsuit 4001 copy, 1970's. Red sunburst. $550
Peavey Milestone IV P-bass copy (usually strung B-E-A-D). PURPLE!: Free as Christmas present. Probably about $200
"Custom" (who the hell is "Custom"?) SG-bass, previous owner added monstrously huge bridge humbucker. (For sale). Wine Red. $200

Guitars:
Epiphone Tony Iommi SG. Black. $400
SX Flying V copy (modified with Duncan Distortion bridge pickup, straplocks and locking machine heads). White. $120 +$150 for mods
Quest Explorer copy (modified with Duncan distortion bridge and Jazz neck pickups, and locking machine heads). Ugliest guitar I own with a flat black body with lots of stickers and a hideous yellow neck. $125 + $200 for mods
Montaya (or Montoya, can't remember) explorer copy. Silver and Black. (for sale). $100 (it was a pretty damn good deal)

Bass Amps & cabs:
Ampeg SVT-350 head
Ampeg SVT-115HE cab
Ashdown MAG-210 cab
Rogue 120 watt 15" combo (currently used for keyboards sometimes)
Squire 30 watt combo (not currently functional)

Unfortunately I do not remember how much any of my amps were except for my first bass amp, which was like $99

Guitar amps:
Roland Cube 15 $99 (bought this just last year)
Squire 15 watt combo (not currently functional)

Pedals:
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff distortion (used for bass)
Morley Dual Bass Wah (Also used for bass, though like the EHX, sparingly)
Marshall Jackhammer overdrive/distortion (used for both bass, as a gain/EQ when recording on my eight-track recorder, and for guitar as a regular distortion pedal)
Digitech reverb (used for both bass and guitar, not part of current rigs though)
Rocktek distortion pedal (used for guitar)
Danelectro Fab Tone distortion (never functional, not sure what was wrong with it, I should have taken it in when I got it but I was 13 at the time)
Boss chromatic tuner (you know, the white rectangular one)

Almost all my pedals were either christmas or birthday presents. Those that weren't I bought so long ago I don't remember what I paid for them.

Other stuff:
D'Adderio strings (100's for my main bass)
Dean Markley chromatic tuner (the tiny grey rectangular kind with a little microphone and an input)
nice, wide double layered leather strap
decent wide leather strap with red dragon on it
same kind of strap as above but with silver design
stoner-looking nylon strap
various cables
microphone
boom microphone stand
really old Peavey PA thingy (has like four or five microphone inputs with gain and reverb levels)
Dunlop 1.5mm picks
Yamaha keyboard and stand
Beer bottle caps.

The instruments alone are worth well over $3500 (though one of them is about half of that).
