Adding Recessed Handles to 810E

I was thinking about installing some recessed handles into the sides of my 810E.

I'm thinking 4 (two on each side) would do the job.

After seeing how big it was, I started scratching my head wondering why Ampeg doesn't install handles on the 810E.

What do you guys think? Doable? It may be more work than I think while doing this could screw with the acoustics. Also weight and the reliability of properly anchoring the handles.

I've never really had to dead-lift one except to get it up on to some stages. And there the process has been one man on the towel bar and one lifting from the bottom. Everything else is tilt-and-lift from the bottom.

Yeah, but having the leverage of handles? Not as much difficulty negotiating doorways, etc...

It seems counter-productive to me (YMMV) in that no matter which way you haul it, 95% will be as said before, tilt 'n roll or tilt 'n lift from bottom. The few times you need to haul it differently, will likely involve more 2 bodies and with that, there's plenty to grab onto with existing hardward to get around most obstacles. You risk far more cutting into the sealed cabinet; I'm no tech with regard to speaker cabinets, and maybe someone else can speak to this, but will the recessed handle hardware affect T&S specs? If so, would sonic quality be impacted?? That would be the 1st thing I'd be worried about.

Just my .02. Good luck and hope you find the right answer for your application!

Best,
Hammer
