| | | | Adios Amigos I've enjoyed talking bass with you all but I've come to the conclusion that I have to give this up. I'm not much good at it, and at 39 years old, not going to get much better. Take care of yourselves!
I might be back if I change my mind but for now, doesn't seem likely.
Ya ta hey, via con dios and all that! |

| | | | Who cares if you're " not that good" I know lots of guys who " aren't that good" but it doesn't stop them from having fun in a garage making noise. It's all about having fun! |

Go ahead and take a break from playing, I did this last year due to both medical stuff and general frustrations with my music. Keep your bass as you never know when the itch will need to be scratched. If you don't feel you're getting any better as a musician, change something. Take lessons, see more live music, take a year off of playing and instead listen to more music and remember why you wanted to do this in the first place.
Well I hope all goes well.

Well I hope all goes well. | This, so much. The only reason I can imagine for quitting entirely (physical or mental incapacitation aside) is if one cannot find the tiniest scintilla of FUN or SATISFACTION in playing the bass.
All best wishes!

I've been playing a long time and with work/kids/life/etc, I'm not getting better either. Who FN gives? I still turn up, rock out and have fun. You don't have to be Geddy to have a good time playing music. The key is lots of beer and excessive volume.
