Exclamation Advice on Getting New Guitarist...

Sign in to disble this ad
My band needs a rythem guitarist. We have a drummer, guitarist, and bassist obviously. We are only 14 but are still pretty good. No one our age understands tempo or rythem. We desparetly could use a new guitarist. Should we not worry about it for a while since we are pretty young? or what? Advice would be much appreciated.

I would recommend working with what you have right now. Any reason your current guitarist can't play rhythm parts? Usually, as a band is starting up, it's easiest to work with a small "core" of instrument players, and as the band improves, then you can think about adding more players, if you even feel you need to at some point down the line. I would say this is especially true if you are all learning your instruments.

As the bassist, your job is to lock in with the drummer. If the two of you are tight and keeping a good tempo, the rest of the band will fall in place.

Guitarists are typically rampant. You might not be looking hard enough. Music store ads are a good place to start.
