Ok, so an open envelope means unread posts in a thread, closed envelope no unread posts. After a thread "heats up" (a certain number of replies - not sure how many) then it changes to that reddish color. I think that's all.

Oh yeah! An envelope with a dot in teh middle is a thread you've subbed. That's all. Really.

Ah, man... you know in all this time of going to vB boards I have NEVER seen that! I just learned more in 20 seconds about something I have been trying to figure out on my own for ages
