Aftermarket tuning pegs for Epiphone guitars?

Sign in to disble this ad
My guitarist has an Epiphone Explorer and an Epiphone Les Paul. They are great except for the fact that the guitars go out of tune after every song. He doesn't play hard but he uses heavy strings. Since the strings will not be changing to lighter gauge, is it worth purchasing Gotoh or Schaller tuning pegs to replace his hardware? Is any brand better at retaining the tuning? Any specific recommendations are appreciated.

I think either brand would do well, or some grovers.

My epiphone has them as standard, i dont know how good they are compaired to other grovers, but, they seem to do the job (but no heavy gauges here)

You could always look into locking tuning pegs ?
