I'm in the process of searching for colleges. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the music scene in Albany (NY).

Is there anything up there? Do any good bands come around? Are there ample opportunities for both casual, semi-professional, and professional musicians? Are there any good local bands? How about music stores?

By chance, is any familiar with both Albany's and DC's (my hometown)?
