Album "thanks" Section - My band is crazy

We are finishing up our sleeve on our album. Everyone in the band is writing out a gigantic "thanks" section. It's getting ridiculous to me. The singer is thanking everyone he's ever met and writing a sentence about why. The thanks section has more words than all the lyrics on the album.

Anyone know a good rule for ettiquite on the thanks section?

Writing a sentence about why is really lame, I'd cut that out. My "thanks" list is pretty long, but I just list names. Fans don't need to know why they're on there, and the people on the list already know.

I think the entire "thanks" thing is way too esoteric and should be left out unless you're famous already. I knew a band that did that and it just seemed corny to me.
