Wink Alicia Keys

Sign in to disble this ad
I know this does not belong in this forum but I am posting it here because I have a hunch it will get more readings.

I had a friend of mine call me a few weeks ago. He asked me who Alicia Keys is. He knows I am into music and he is not. He has his own computer company and as president/owner his life is his business for now.

Seems he called a friend of his, some girl he knows in NYC who does lighting for diner when he was in town. She had plans and said she could not meet. Then she calls back and says she does not have a "date" and he could accompany her. So he goes and meets up with her and about 6 others.

One of them was Alicia Keys, who happened to be in town for a Regis Philbis (sp?) show.

Now, he doesn't know who Alicia Keys is? I ask him just what planet he has been living on. He says "I dunno ... some nice looking black chick named Alicia Keys was with us" ....

Hello ... duh .... didn;t even get her autograph. She was just one of the crowd to him .. hes just a geek.

I watched some of the grammy's last night and it jogged my memory of this little adventure.

I just wanted to share that little story with my TB buddies ...

Have a nice day!

it is a nice story but its in the wrong section thats all, we have different sub sections so this board doesnt get totally turned into chaos by people posting where ever they want.

Nothing against you, but it belongs in off topic.

I had a Squire VM at one time until I traded it for a American Deluxe jass. I thought these are very good for the money. Pickups are great!

Have a good day ....

Nice enough story, I feel it's cool he didn't know who she was...could engage her in a way so many people hung up on celebrity never could

so put it in the 'nice story' section

purposely posting in the wrong section to 'get more readings' is pretty weak.

I wouldn't know Alicia Keys if she was standing a foot away from me. Couldn't name a single song of hers either.

A bunch of my friends are involved with keep a child alive (an aids in africa thing) that she's really active in and have met her a bunch of times. They said she was super awesome... also, asking for an autograph in that situation is one of those uncouth things.

I'd love to meet Alicia Keys. I wouldn't bug her with autographs but would want a picture with her. I've never really been into autographs...

I have met alot of celebrities and I'm never one to bug them with autographs and such. Rarely would I want a pic (if I even have a camera). I did however request a quick picture with Mary Wilson (hey, she's a Supreme!) when I met her at the Musicians Hall of Fame awards show. But Peter Frampton was there also and that man couldn't breathe. I felt bad for him. Everytime he tried to take a drink or talk to someone, someone else was comin' along wantin' a autograph or picture. I waited til he was free and just shook his hand and commented on his performance that night and let it be.

Ah I see the post got moved to "Misc" ... I had to get someone at TB to move it for me!

Anyways, my wife say Peter Frampton on the TV, I think one of those storyteller shows, and she said he did a solo that was just out of this world. Didn't know he was such a good guitar player. Would love to see him live!!!

the funk brothers was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame here in Nashville last Nov. I sat front row center. Peter Frampton performed with the Funks. He sung "Sign, Sealed, Delivered" and "Shotgun" He did awesome and played the hell out of the guitar. I got to go to the after party as a guest of Bob Babbitt (notice the avatar). Bob is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Frampton was pretty cool too. I mean, he didn't turn anyone down from a picture, autograph, or even conversation.

i think it is funny that you knock your friend for not knowing who alicia keys is, and then you mention regis in your story as if you dont know who he is. haha.

I've loved Alicia Keys since I first saw her video on MTV back in 2002 or whenever her first single came out. I'd love to meet her.
