All bass band?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

With my subsequent falling out with my former band.
I've been toying with the idea of an all bass band.

2-3 basses drums and vocals.

I'm sure its been done before... but I can't think of anyone in the last 10 years to do it.

What do you guys think?

It could work. Bass guitars playing in different tunings, or playing in different registers, could carry the rhythm, melody, and harmony.

Sure it's been done, in the past ten years by probably at least a dozen metal bands. Switchblade Kittens sound indistinguishable from any other pop-punk band even though they have three bassists. What style do you have in mind?

I was thinking something along the lines of experimental.. Heavy rock with some sampling involved.

Leaning more towards creativity over heavy though.
I've done the heavy thing.. and on bass.. it can be alittle monotonous.

Heavy rock with multiple basses, some weird noises and sampling - the first thing that comes to mind is Cop Shoot Cop, though that was more than ten years ago. Are you familiar with them?

Can't say I am... I'll check them out after I'm done work.
Thanks for your insight.
