why does it seem like all bassists are short to average height and stocky and guitarists are tall and skinny? i seem to see this trend at 75% of the shows i go to. maybe the low frequencies attract these sort of people.
i wonder what percentage of this board would fall into this group.
i do: 5' 10" and 195lbs.
what about you?

The bassist was always kept in the back so the singer and guitarist don't feel self-concious.
I can think of a bunch of short guitarists, Angus Young, Randy Rhodes; can't really think of any short stocky bassists.
I'm 5' 11" and about 150 pounds. (172 cm 68 kgs...I think)

| | | | Heh, Most people I talk to seem to think the bass player stereotype is the very tall, kind of gangly, usually wiry but sometimes built, guy that just ...is there.
Me?
I'm 6'4 and lanky as hell.

I'm 6' 235. | I've always thought of bass players to be tall. At 5'7" I thought I was a freak of nature in the bass world. I guess I'm not entirely alone.
